Marking Utilities
STAT takes care of calling the Ohio Utilities Protection Service
(OUPS - the 'Call before you dig' team). It takes 48 hours from
notice creation before we are able to begin any project.
We DO NOT control where or how utilities are marked. The paint
used is water soluble, it will take a few weeks to a few months
for it to wear away completely.
Cable, telephone, gas, water and sewer are marked. Systems
buried in your yard which you own will not be marked.
Final Grade Must be Complete
STAT is required by our contracts and by law to wait until
final grade is completed before burying cable or pipe. Our contracts
with utility companies and local building codes specify the
minimum depth for burying various lines. Minimum depth is measured
from grade and we cannot begin work until final grade is complete.
Our Schedule is Weather Dependent
Our schedule is effected by wet weather and frozen ground.
We do our best to meet the needs of our customers but we cannot
contol the weather. Please remember that even if your yard is
dry, we may be behind due to wet weather in other areas of the
state.
